Not So Brief Briefing: Mutually negotiating understandings.

Sure we all know projects start with briefing, but briefing is actually a back-and-forth process between a client and designer (and possibly other stakeholders). The nature of the project can change during the course of these conversations as intentions and meanings are clarified and the approach(s) to the project agreed upon. I have looked into this by interviewing expert designers, given we don’t know much about how projects are framed during briefing.
