The publishers wanted an icon that represented Australia and Asia combined in the one image.

The stamped icon is a hybrid of the Australian dollar sign integrated into an Asian inspired seal symbol, reminiscent of Chinese ‘double happiness’ stamps. Australia and the Asia Game goes beyond political platitudes to examine reality and opportunity in Australia’s place in Asia, and in doing so reveals the essence of a game that affects every nation in the region. The icon looks like it cold be a game piece too.
